Undercover Infiltration - Case History
An incoming manager at a large UK manufacturing company noticed that a large number of warehouse stock discrepancies had been put down to accounting errors. Some of the quantities involved raised his suspicions and he decided the matter should be investigated.
Under detailed legal advice, a workplace infiltration lasting 17 weeks led to the realization that massive product thefts from the warehouse were being covered up with collusion from IT personnel. Sophisticated manipulation of stock control records had masked losses running into millions of pounds.
With assistance from the Regional Crime Squad, over 50 people were arrested including the IT manager, and charged with fraud. Much of the company's loss was subsequently recovered through civil action and by a claim on the company's fidelity insurance. |
